Children Are a Blessing

I just watched a wonderful short documentary: Children Are a Blessing by Moore Family Films. This film provides God's Truth on the matter of children. That they are a blessing, not a curse! I encourage you to watch it as well. You can watch it for free until April 30th. It is also currently on sale, and available for purchase for $10.

This film brought tears to my eyes throughout. The facts presented about how many children are aborted each year are astonishing. The facts about birth control pills are presented. It breaks my heart to think that I too used to use them. The blessings I may have disregarded because I didn't put my full trust in the Lord but in the world. I am thankful that the Lord winks at my times of ignorance (Acts 17:30), and that He is so merciful and forgiving.

Many times throughout my days out with my 4 children, total strangers will ask me if I am done. Or, nonchalantly say, "I guess you're done now that you have your girl." Now that I truly understand what God's Word says about children, my answer is always, "We will see what the Lord has planned." We put our full trust in our Creator. We know He will provide for us in all things. That is something He will do for ALL of His children.

This is not my picture, source unknown.

  1. I just heard about this and watched this morning! We are only pregnant with number 3, but already the comments are coming - with having a boy and girl already, I guess people expected us to be done or assume we had a birth control slip up, sigh. Any talk of more children is often met with weird looks or negative comments. I felt the need weighing on my heart today to officially "out myself" regarding birth control and my skirt wearing to family and friends, since I hadn't really ever made our position clear before now. Sometimes it is really hard to do what the Lord calls us to do!

    1. #3 is when the comments started for us too. Eh. We are truly blessed though because hubs comes from a large family, my mom does also, and my SIL has a lot of littles. So, I ignore the comments and move on. Of course, they are easy for me to ignore because the comments mostly come from strangers in the store. Now, with 4, we really get looks when walking through the store, especially during school hours! I just smile and move on. =) The Lord will help you speak what you need to speak. It won't be nearly as hard as you think.
